Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Line Review

Perricone MD is renowned for its efficacious anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing skincare and their popular supplements range that helps to combat skin issues from the inside out. Damage caused to our skin over time can lead to our skin looking dull, dehydrated and tired-looking. So Dr Nick Perricone added another amazing new line to his renowned Perricone MD Army to combat these issues. The H2 Elemental Energy™ Collection contains a comprehensive range of lightweight and fast-absorbing products that help to provide a powerful boost of hydration. Leaving the skin looking radiant, full of vitality and feeling re-energised.

The entire line is powered by Hydrogen (H2 Energy Complex™) which is known to be the smallest molecule in the universe (the smaller the molecule, the deeper its penetrates). This stable form of hydrogen is incredibly powerful at helping each product within the line to rapidly-absorb into the skin activating skins cells. Not only are the scientific results actually effective in this entire line, but the packaging is equally as stylish and rather unique. It just screams modern-day science. Each product within the line is created to work simultaneously together in light layers, to provide deep hydration that will last all day long. This is a collection that works for every skin type that suffers with any kind of dehydration issues, and is especially beneficial for those with Combination and Oily skin. The lightweight, fast-absorbing textures contain no trace of pore-clogging ingredients that can cause acne breakouts and congestion. Dry skin types will also benefit from this line giving them that extra boost of hydration. Of course dry skin-types lack oil, so i always recommend following up afterwards with an oil to lock in all that hydration. I highly recommend this Perricone MD face oil, as it is in balm form.

Upon the initial release of this in the USA i was kindly sent 4 out of the 5 products from the from the H2 Elemental Energy™ line. I briefly reviewed the line after 6 weeks of using on my old blog, but wanted to share an updated review on here. The only product i don’t own from the collection is the Advanced Renewal Infusion Serum, which retails for a whopping £210 – *Gulp! I can safely say this is definitely out of my price range, though experience has taught me every product from Perricone MD is a worthwhile investment. Anyway, since the end of March i have incorporated each of these products into my skincare routine and i have noticed a dramatic difference in my hydration levels and overall look. So in the order that i use them, lets talk through what each product offers and decide which ones are worth the investment….

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Firming Foam Mask* – £48/$50 for 100ml

The first thing you will notice is that there is no cleanser in this line, but with 6 amazing cleansers already under their belt, this line didn’t need it! My personal favourite cleansers are this and this. I have a Perricone MD Battle of the cleansers post coming up shortly. I have a fair few foaming masks in my collection and my favourite for quite some time has been the Radical Skincare Instant Revitalising Mask. The Perricone MD Firming Foam Mask* comes in a sleek airtight pump container and the amount of product you get is amazing (100ml to be precise, most brands will offer 50ml for this price point). It dispenses out as a rich gel which feels incredibly cooling on the skin, (the total opposite of this Perricone MD Mask i love, that heats up). Then begins to turn into a delicate yet rich and dense foam almost immediately, with the slightest tingling sensation. I like that the foam doesn’t dissolve too quickly like with some ‘foaming’ masks, and the rich texture does a great job of preventing it from running into your eyes, nose or mouth. If you could put your face in a cool fluffy cloud, I’m guessing it would probably feel something like this!? It’s one of those face masks that you notice immediate results with after rinsing. The Firming Foam Mask is not only fun to use, but it really works to at helping your skin look and feel amazing! Skin is left feeling hydrated, invigorated, refreshed, soft, soothed and moisturised, it really is a mask powerhouse and it smells delightful too. If your looking for a mask to give instant brightening and firming results, then i highly recommend this. It’s now a firm staple in my beauty cabinet. This is a face mask that is gentle enough to be used everyday, however i only mask when and as needed. At present i am enjoying using this once every fortnight. Perricone now have 4 face masks in their collection the Chloro Plasma,Cocoa MoistureRefreshing Shower Mask and now the Firming Foam mask All of which i thoroughly enjoy.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Booster Serum* – £80/$100 for 30ml

The Most Expensive product of the four from the collection that i own, and at first it was my least favourite. Not because it’s a bad product, but because for the price point, the texture and the amount of product i have to use! There are many more affordable hydrating serums out there. I’m so used to my serums being power houses that combine a multitude of ingredients to target an array of different skin issues, so i just didn’t find that this wowed me….. However, the longer i used it the more i  grew to really appreciate it, especially when used in conjunction with the Hydrating Cloud Cream. The serum boosted the cream even more! The serum is very fluid and lightweight which absorbs quickly and gives your skin an instant boost of hydration. Those who dislike sticky or tacky serums will love this. Its’s also especially effective if you are someone who is short of time and need your skincare routine to be quick and efficient. The container is airtight which keeps the ingredients fresher and makes it fantastic for travel with no risk for spillage. Almost water-like fluid serum textures with no viscosity are brilliant at penetrating the skin quickly, however because of the texture i found that i would have to use so many pumps of this to cover my face. I felt like i was going through it far too quick, especially since its not exactly cheap. Anyway over time i discovered that i love layering this with other serums. I still got the hydration benefits but used less product – hooray. Because of the thin texture the product can shoot out the pump a little messily. So make sure to cup your hand so no product goes to waste. Airtight pumps is my favourite packaging for skincare, however pumps work best with a slightly richer texture. This serum would have benefited much greater with a dropper applicator instead.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Methyl Gluceth-20, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Betaine, Ectoin, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Hydroxide, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Acrylatesa/Inyl Isodecanoate Crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Lactobacillus Ferment, Allantoin, Di Potassi Um Glycyrrhizate, Phosphatidylcholine, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Phenoxyethanol, Saccharide Isomerate, Sea Whip Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Sodium Borohydride.

Worth The Investment? Yes, though there are more affordable options out there.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing Eye Gel* – £60/$75 for 15ml

This is not my the most expensive eye cream i have tried. My long-time favourite eye serum is only a few £’s cheaper. The H2 Elemental Energy Eye Gel is a cooling, soothing eye gel that de-puffs and hydrates the delicate eye area. Dr Nick Perricone describes the De-Puffing Eye Gel* as a preventative measure for any visible signs of ageing around the eye area that tackles puffiness, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. This is a fantastic eye product for those who are after a lightweight hydrator that wont irritate sensitive eyes and it also layers well with a richer eye cream over top. I also really like that it is Fragrance-Free as i have extremely sensitive eyes, any kind of fragrance seems to irritate them, with the exception of the eye serum previously mentioned. It works for all skin types and i believe all ages too. Helping to provide immediate soothing hydration. My eyes don’t often get puffy unless i cry, and i have found during those times it really has helped with puffiness. Initially i wasn’t sure at first that the gel texture would give my under eyes enough moisture, but boy-oh-boy, was I wrong! It feels incredibly delicate and silky to the touch. My under eyes feel extremely hydrated and moisturised all day long. Even throughout allergy season where my eyes tend to be more dry, itchy and inflamed! Its a fantastic serum for layering with an eye cream and i enjoy applying this over top. The two together are like magic! A little really goes a long way with this and when i use in the day time my concealer applies like a dream over top (i actually have less creasing and can get away without having to set with a powder). Even after all these months i still find myself enjoying applying this every morning. If you are after a lightweight eye product that feels like a glass of water for your under eyes, has a nice cooling sensation and instantly makes your eyes feel refreshed and look visibly less puffy… then i highly recommend this! Best of all you will like this if you also have extremely sensitive eyes and get milia bumps. I actually found it has helped remove some of the milia bumps i had under my eyes.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream* – £69/$80 for 50ml

Now for the Creme-De-La-Creme of this entire line *now imagine angels start singing in the background. This is by far one of Perricone MD’s most exciting innovations to date! The H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream features a luxurious, lighter-than-air formula that provides a superior hydrating experience and true efficacy. It’s incredibly unique in that it addresses the needs of dehydrated, dull, tired-looking skin without being heavy or pore-clogging. Which can result in breakouts. The revolutionary formula helps to infuse hydration to skin that is lacking water. Helping you to achieve healthy, hydrated and youthful looking skin. Where as most ‘traditional’ moisturisers target skin types lacking in oil (dry skin). This was the product i was most excited about getting my hands on and i must say that it exceeded my already high expectations! This moisturiser is simply amazing and I have reached for this every day since the end of March, that it is almost all gone. I will say though that a little really does go a long way! It feels so incredibly lightweight on the skin and cool to the touch. Very similar to the Blithe Crystal Iceplant only more whipped, and a better cruelty free alternative to the Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream. The Perricone Hydrating Cloud Cream* is the ultimate lightweight hydrator for those with combination and oily skin, and even those with dry skim in the summer. It helps to provide the skin with intense hydration that feels feather-light and absorbs instantly. Leaving the skin feeling cool, refreshed and awake. Before you know it your skin will be balanced and clear. Since i started using use i have noticed a huge difference in my dehydrated skin. My skin is the best it’s ever been this year, more balanced, less patchy and brighter, and this cream has played a huge part in it. I also noticed i have been breaking out much less as well. I honestly could not see myself living without this moisturiser in my life now and it will forever be a repurchase for me, for as long as my skin continues to love it!
