Mintd Box Luxury Subscription Beauty Box | Spring Clean Edit

Ever since the creation of Mintd box last July (happy anniversary Mintd) they have come out with a new globally-on-trend subscription box every month. Unlike other beauty boxes out there Mintd Beauty boxes consist of only premium and luxury brands, which are stocked through sites like Space NK, Selfridges, and Beauty Expert. If you are someone like myself who holds that Quality over Quantity rule, then Mintd Box really has your name all over it.

I have been lucky over the years to have been sent many beauty subscription boxes, but sadly most have been a bit of a miss with just one decent product. So many of them bombard us all over social media with hyped-up mediocre quality products, therefore upon receiving they have failed my expectations and i stopped purchasing beauty boxes. As i dont just purchase products to review, but i have the hope that i will discover something new and continue to love it and share with you guys. But then i finally discovered Mintd Box, a luxurious British beauty subscription box that actually speaks to me on a personal level. Unlike other boxes with what seems like mostly sample sizes, Mintd box offer around 4-8 generous full size and luxury travel size products. A mix of premium skincare, makeup and haircare products. I will admit at first i did gulp a little at the £65 price tag, but if you break down the price of each product individually (as i have done for you in this post) it really does end up being worth your while with the money that you save. Could i personally afford to buy a Mintd Box every month? Probably not, but it does make the nice occasional splurge. Following their social media handles helps you to see which box is coming out each month, so it helps you to decide if its worth investing in…..

At Mintd box we aim to inspire & encourage women from all walks of life to own their presence, reveal their inner beauty through experimentation and discovery of new luxury beauty brands. We believe that every women deserves to feel confident and in control of her day

Each month you can expect to receive a perfectly packaged box tailored to fit your lifestyle, and of course help fix your beauty obsession. Each month the box is exquisitely packaged in a luxurious white box and wrapped with a bow in perfect precision (i must admit that this does satisfy my ocd tendencies lol). Mintd Box just oozes sophistication, thoughtfulness and class. I really respect a company that takes their time to make sure the entire experience from beginning to end is special.

One thing i really like about Mintd Boxes is that each monthly box has it’s own theme, which gives a unique spin on the ‘traditional’ beauty box. This box is called the Spring Clean box (now no longer available) because Spring isn’t just for cleaning up your home, its for spring cleaning all aspects of your life including your skincare routine. So say Goodbye to dry, dull lacklustre skin and hello to gorgeously glowing, fresh-looking healthy skin.

This particular box contained 3 full size products and 1 travel size product with a retail value of £186. Saving you a whopping £121

Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream | Full Size 48g – Retail Value of £40 / $49

The innovative Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream is a deeply hydrating probiotic multivitamin for your skin, in cream form. That helps your skin to maintain a healthy complexion from day to night. Tula claims that it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve your skins suppleness over time. This i won’t be able to comment on just yet as at just shy of 33 i still have no fine lines or wrinkles in site, besides a few crease lines under my eyes (i guess good skincare does pay off). I like that the texture of the moisturiser is lightweight enough for daytime wear, yet rich enough to deliver regenerative hydration overnight also. Packed full of Tula’s signature probiotic technology it helps to leave your skin balanced and nourished. It is suitable for all skin types and ages, especially for those seeking hydration and repairative anti-ageing benefits. I am incredibly fussy about the moisturisers i use, because many don’t agree with my sensitive, easily congested skin. Usually before the end of the first week of use, i will experience breakouts if it does not agree but my skin has never reacted badly to this ever. It feels creamy but also lightweight, absorbing into my skin quickly without leaving behind any greasy or tacky residue. As i have oily-combination skin i enjoy this at night, especially when my skin is feeling a little irritated or reactive. In fact this is so soothing, i used it over sunburn over my shoulders and back and it really helped! The light subtle natural floral scent is not overpowering and rather relaxing. Every time i wear this overnight i find that i wake up to plump, firm and clear looking skin that feels incredibly soft and hydrated. I cannot wait to use this more come winter time, when it will get much more use.

Su-Man Skincare Velvet Skin Brightening Serum | Full Size 30ml – Retail Value of £90

I was extremely happy when i saw one of my favourite skin serums in this beauty box! The Su-Man Velvet Skin Brightening Serum made it into my Best of 2016 beauty favourites. It graced my previous blog and instagram account a lot. The £90 price tag is not exactly cheap but it is worth every penny and your skin will thank me later. In fact it has been reduced from £98 down to £90.  The Su-man serum is a silky-smooth, innovative essence serum-hybrid. It helps to deliver a boost of radiance, nourishment and comfort while leaving the skin feeling velvety soft. Described by Elle magazine as liquid rose petals it will honestly leave your skin feeling smoother than a babies bottom. The premium serum blend is packed full of antioxidants, omegas, hyaluronic acid, traexamic acid, ceramides and dragons blood extract (which is a Chinese plant not a real dragon btw lol). Over time it helps to diminish the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. It really is a lovely anti-ageing elixir for a firmer and brighter complexion. For those sensitive to strong fragrance you will be happy to know that this is almost scentless, with a slight hint of rose.  I know this is not in everyone’s price range, but for me i always tell people to invest in the middle of their skincare routine (essences, eye serums and face serums). There is a reason it’s one of my most recommended serums, and will forever be a repurchase.

Oilixia Australian Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser | Full size 75ml – Retail Value of £24

This is a brand i had only heard of briefly though Express News (see here) and it wasn’t until i received this beauty box that i learnt the concepts behind the brand, and its passion for the laid back natural beauty of Australia. Even The Beauty Shortlist noticed this unique and innovative brand, and they have received numerous awards. Lisa Eldridge even raved about this cleanser (see here), so you must know its a brand to check out!?  Though inspired by Australian ingredients and laid back vibes, Oilixia products are made here in the UK (which of course means no animal testing, hooray). The brand uses little known ingredients and natural oils from around the world especially Australia, with well known skincare benefits. The Oilixia Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser features Kakadu plum extract which originates from Australia’s Kimberley region and known as one of the best natural resources of vitamin C. It’s also rich in phenolic acid (a type of phytochemical called polyphenol) and helps to gently exfoliate the skin for smoother texture and a brighter appearance. Also included in this unusual gummy-textured blend is Almond, Apricot and Macadamia oils to help nourish and condition the skin. Along with Eucalyptus which has fantastic antibacterial properties, and is also where it gets it’s refreshing and uplifting menthol scent from. The texture and scent of this really reminds me of Vicks vapor rub, though a little milder in scent. It really is like no cleanser i have ever tried before with its unusual gummy, tacky texture. Simply apply a 5 pence piece amount to the face and neck until it turns tacky (this helps to lift off impurities). Then simply apply the tiniest amount of water to emulsify into a milk, which spreads over the face like a dream. Simply rinse away with warm water and enjoy refreshed, deeply cleansed, sebum-free smooth skin. That feels normal but not at all dry or taught. If you have oily skin i highly recommend this cleanser. The texture of the cleanser is something to get used to, but i find it a fun experience. This product from the brand excited me so much that I’m now lusting after their Amazonian Cacay Facial Oil next.

Patchology SmartMud No Mess Mud Masques | Travel Size ( 4 Masks ) – Retail Value of £24 / $30

The Patchology SmartMud No Mess Mud Masques offer an innovative take on the traditional mud mask. No more dipping your finger into a pot and messily applying all over your face. The Patchology mud masks are inspired by Korean sheet masks but instead of being a hydrating mask covered in a serum or ampoule, its covered in a mud solution. A mix of Korean jeju volcanic ash, bentonite clay and kaolin to help detoxify and purify the skin, removing all impurities. You get all the benefits of a mud mask but without the messy sink to clean up, tightness and flaking everywhere. The actual sheet mask comes in two parts, which makes it brilliant to suit an array of different face shapes. It is somewhat messy and awkward to apply as the mask sheet comes in between a white and clear plastic sheet. You peel off the white plastic first, then apply the mud side to the skin and peel off the clear layer. It is somewhat fidgety to do and does move around, but its extremely thin and easy to move back into place. It does mean your hands get a bit messy though. The material of the mask itself reminds me of gauze that you use on a body cast and the scent of the mud is delightful, with a soft natural mix of floral and herbal scent. Simply leave on your face for around 10 minutes, you will feel a very slight amount of tingling, nothing extreme or at all irritating. It just means it’s doing it’s working it’s magic. Then peel it off and rinse with warm water to be left with clear, purified, sebum free skin. I notice a huge difference with sebum reduction and smaller pores everytime i use this mask. You can see my in depth review of this mask here.
